Today, I stumbled upon a couple of free MS Reader dictionaries provided by Microsoft for use with their not very successful MS Reader software. They're available for French, Italian, German and Spanish.
In order to use them, you'll also need to install the MS Reader software or convert them to other eBook or dictionary formats. This is relatively easy, because they're not DRM protected and can be "deflated" with ConvertLIT.
As for the content, the linguistic data was provided by leading German dictionary publisher Langenscheidt, however, the dictionaries contain only about 20K entries and haven't been updated since 2000.

Very useful
I've had these lying around for years but I haven't used MS Reader on my HP PDA for so long, I'd forgotten about them. I never thought about converting them to another format - thanks.
