Ok, after a good break is time to start again with my language learning goal. I will be
doing a TAC for 2011 an my goals are the followings:

1. Reach level A1 within six months, Learn 2000 words within that time frame.
2. Reach A2 by the end of the year.

In order to accomplish that, I need to get my resources organized. I have books,
movies, audios, friends, target language local groups ... I will take this coming
weekend to get organized, so I will be ready for Monday. I will study every single day
for at least 30 minutes. In addition, I will listen and read in my target language
daily. Moreover, I will be posting here my ups and down, but slowly I going to increase
the amount of words used in the target language.

That's my confession, so now I got back to work!

Wouldn't 2000 words be considered B1/2? Good luck.

Hey arodriguez, and welcome into team Я! I took the liberty of pleading for you to get on my team for this year's TAC,as you were asking if you could get in a team. As I understand it you're a beginner at Russian, and I'm not that far ahead of you but the other two members (Petrklic particularly and handfulofkeys) are. In any case we'll be motivating each other. Also if I could write to you in Spanish, I'd love to, but of course I get it if you don't want to. Well, good luck with your studies! I'll drop by from time to time.

(Zekecoma is right, 2000 words is definitely a highish B1 level; you can easily get to A2 in six months. As for A1, it should take you about one month: it's basically the "introduce yourself" level.

That is true, but more than knowing those 2k words I would like to know how to combine them in a sentence. But hey! if a reach B2 that will be a blessing.

It's doable, especially seeing how motivated you are, and if you have Russian friends to help you out, definitely. That's the level I'm aiming for by the end of the year (a low B2, which I don't consider to be fluency; basic fluency I think is a high B2). When I said you could reach A2 withing six month, that didn't mean you couldn't do better, of course.

I'm trying for B1/2 in German by August (Close to 6 months). What materials are you using
for Russian? I probably won't be starting Russian myself until Assimil releases it for
English people by the end of this year.

Hi arodriguez66!

Good luck in your way to learn Russian! I'm not in your team but if you need any help
or to practice Russian let me know about.
