Wow! I'm quite impressed with the HTML/Javascript version. For some reason, it's more fun when you can't see the numbers. Here were my scores:

Cantonese: 11
Hindi:      1
Korean:     2
Tibetan:    -2
Arabic:     -6

It looks like I should do Cantonese next.

Thank you so much Reltuk for the HTML version. It's great.

If anyone has any thoughts on how to adjust the numbers, feel free to post here.

Malcom and Reltuk, well done! That's about the best stuff I've come across for a long time when rarer languages are concerned. I'll make sure to include it on the website ASAP.

I tested myself for a language I yearn to learn in the future, Serbo Croatian, and got myself a staggering 26. Quite an encouragement!

For Swiss-German it was 22 and for Portuguese 29.

Well done guys!

Congratulations for this nice test, Malcolm.
I like the last part of the questions much more than the first (some people don't care about chic factor and such things, you know).

(I also have some doubts about question 11 ("how many languages are you studying?") Say you're studying French and English at university and you want to learn Spanish in your spare time - would that be so bad?)

reltuk, I visited your site and I think I know some good sites you can add to the page about Latin: Perseus    offers a huge amount of Latin texts (both the original and an English translation). If you click Tools, you get a lot of useful stuff , like the Latin morphological analysis and the dictionary entry lookup, which includes the famous Lewis & Short.
If you know French, Itinera Electronica can also be very useful.

Thanks for this.

I took the test for various languages and scored OK on most. However, I got a -5 for Arabic! Looks like I'll have to throw away all my Arabic materials ;)

Great test! I got the following results for my 'wish list'...

Tibetan - 6
Armenian - 1
Korean - 2
Hebrew - 6

So Tibetan and Hebrew should be next on my list. Which is good as I bought Learning Practical Tibetan just today. :)
