16 for French. Haven't done Spanish because I'm more sure I want to learn that language than I am for French. I'll do it for Italian, Portuguese, German, and Arabic (the other 4 languages I have various degrees of interest in learning) later today. Interesting test!

Now, here's the list for a Hong Kong young Chinese speaker:

American English: 18
Japanese: 12
French: 6
Korean: 4
Chaozhou (Teochew) Dialect: 3
Spanish/Portuguese/Italian: -2
Russian: -3
Czech/Polish: -7

So sad. It sounds better that I take French before learning Teochew, the language of my native town.

Sorry guys. Web server went down and I haven't spent the time to restore it. I've put up a copy of the test here:

http://reltuk.googlepages.com/lang_test.html

This should be way more reliable (it's hosted by google, after all).

Hope this helps,
Enjoy,

Aaron

Thank you reltuk. I have downloaded the page and it seems to be working offline. I got 16 for Portuguese and 12 for Chinese (Mandarin).

Great fun.

The only problem for me is that the difficulty of the language is a minus. For me, it'd be a plus. In fact, the writing system is a major part of why I'm learning Japanese.
