While I'll have to check my copies later, I believe both German without
Toil and German with Ease begin with a lesson with lines about tea being cold and the
cup being small. However, the courses diverge quite markedly in later lessons. KCor,
could you share a snippet of a later lesson, say, 25 or 50?

With pleasure. Here are a few words or phrases I am able to catch at the very
beginning.

25: Guten Abend, Liebling. Warum bist du noch im Bett?

40: Alle leute steigen aus ... kleinen alten Mann

55: Der Engel mit Shuhen

71: Wir wollen ihnen ... eine deutsche persönlichkeit vorstellen

85: Ich kann immer glauben ... Wir sitzen in Zug

I hope that can help narrow my question down. I really hope to begin Assimil soon and
if you could please be as specific as possible then I would greatly appreciate it.

Here are a few lesson names that you can check with your audio,

36- Das liebe Geld
71- Klein-Fritzchen
74- Vater und Sohn
90- Der Krimi am Freitagabend
100- Trauen Sie Niemandem

If those randomly chosen lessons match, then you should have the same course as mine.
Geramn with Ease by Hilde Scneider, ISBN 978-2-7005-0132-2. Got my copy from amazon uk
for about ten pounds.

Thank you very much, sir.

These lessons that you posted to seem to correspond to the audio I have. I'm going to
order it right now. Thanks again.

Whatever you do, don't do what I did - That is buy a huge selection of books and courses.
I have a quite impressive book collection now and several gigs of ripped CDs on my pc.
I reckon I may have got to page 20 in one of the books and even got to CD2 on one of the courses.
I'd say - pick one product reccomeded by some of the experts here and stick with it. If you have too much option it's like having SKY TV - hundreds of channels but you just flick through them all...

Helpful information. I have been doing that. However, I can;t stick with a single
thing. I like to do grammar and vocabulary workbooks as well simultaneously so I can
defeat the monotony. I am about two chapters away from completely the 'Teach Yourself'
book and I wanted to make sure I had this to go right in to.

My problem now that I have found the right book (German with Ease - ISBN:
9782700501322) is that I can't find anywhere online that has it in stock. Everywhere I
look has it on back-order.

If anyone knows of an available site that actually has it I would be most appreciative.

You can probably find the book (second-hand) at
http://www.abebooks.com/.

There's no harm in using more than one resource. It can be very beneficial since you not only break the monotony
but also get lots of repetition and get difficult points explained from slightly different angles. It is however a sound
advice to stick to one source as your primary learning method. That way you'll keep up the progression and avoid
never advancing past the first few lessons.

Does anyone happen to know why there is no English base-language German with Ease currently being offered on
the Assimil website?

I don't know. But, I ordered it from Amazon this weekend for me and my Mom. It is on a 1
to 2 month delivery. Hopefully by Mother's Day. Obviously not the most popular.

I don't know, but maybe they're going to release an English version of L'allemand, i.e. the 3rd generation of
their German course soon..?
