salamz people...i jus wanna know if arabic n urdu have any similarities..i mean like do they have same words???

They're completely unrelated when it comes to grammar and the like (Urdu is an Indo-
European language, while Arabic is a Semitic language). Urdu has a lot of Persian vocabulary though, and Persian in turn has a lot of Arabic vocabulary (as in half of its vocabulary or more), so some of these Persian loanwords in Urdu might be ultimately derived from Arabic. Also, I imagine that there must be some Islam-related terms directly borrowed from Arabic. 2 persons have voted this message useful |
