Are there books, in English or Spanish that focus on Spanish phonetics and acquiring a Spanish accent? I am aware of accent trainers for non-natives of English wanting to develop a better cadence or intonation in American or British English, but I'm not aware of a similar such book for Spanish learners. As for accent, any will really do, though preferably Castillian. If such a book/CD exists for Argentinian Spanish, I would be very, very interested indeed. Does such a thing exist?

@ Paranday
Both the above look really useful. Thanks for sharing, I may try one or both at some time. The first 2 units of platiquemos focus intensivly on proununciation. And I do mean intensivly. It has endless drills on things like "contrasting stress patterns" and the like. Perhaps you would find it useful?

Those look excellent, thank you very much! I would be fascinated to find such courses for Argentinian Spanish.
