I'm impressed. En passant, I must congratulate people here for using the word fluently quite correctly. We can quibble all we want about various details about actual performance, but the main thing is that someone has has the guts to actually speak French is a rather high-profile situation. What I take away, as I have always said,is that you don't have to speak a language like a native to be able to communicate well.
