Hi all,
I'm trying to take my French to a more advanced level and I'm wondering if anyone knows
any good TV shows I could watch? I'm looking for something that's native rather than
dubbed and has a lot of everyday situations with typical conversational speech. Can
anyone suggest any dramas, sitcoms, etc.? I realise that soap operas like Plus Belle La
Vie are probably prime candidates but I'd prefer something a bit more, well, interesting
if possible.
Thanks!

Hi,
I am also really interested in this information.
I've been looking for a while and I am more interested in Canadian-french(Québécois) series if possible. I only found la petite vie but I did not enjoy it much.

I recently came across "Engrenages" (french police drama):
IMDB Link
By now I've watched 4 episodes of the first season and really like it. The great part (for me) is that the series is being emitted in Great Britain so it's easy to get your hands on an original version with English subtitles. (I've found that this combination is even more helpful for me than french subtitles, others might think different about that).

Thanks! Engrenages sounds familiar, I think someone mentioned it at a meetup a while ago.
I tried another police drama (Braquo) but it was a bit too difficult for me between the
language and the complex plot, so subtitles might come in useful.

"H" is a hospital sitcom.
I don't know how "everyday" the conversation is in that though. It's still beyond my ability to understand more than about 10% of what's going on.

translator2: Yeah I know and love DPStream, definitely a useful site!
Eagle32: That looks like it could be entertaining, I'll give it a try.
Should be plenty to keep me busy with for now!
