I dug out the cassettes to my Linguaphone Polish course. They were an ex-library copy
and it looks like someone recorded over them. Can anyone help me out? If you send your
cassettes, I can do a really professional job to turn them into CDs, and return them to
you.
By the way, hundreds of UK libraries are closing down at the moment. It's a good chance
to save some language books from the bin..

Sorry to revive this old thread. I have the same problem as DavidM had back in 2011. I
bought the seemingly last used copy of the Linguaphone Polish course from Anna Seidler
(1979) off Amazon Marketplace for quite a steep price. The books are in mint
condition. However, the first cassette of this course (introduction, lessons 1 to 9)
is missing. Since a am still a beginner in my Polish studies, the course is more or
less useless for me right now. So I think I have to return it, if I cannot find the
audio of the first cassette elsewhere. I would be very delighted if anyone could help
me out. If you send me your cassette(s), I offer you to turn them into MP3 files (one
for each lesson) and return them to you. Please send me a PM.

Hello Neumanc,
Linguaphone Polish
I have just sent you a private message.
Beginning Polish, by Alexander Schenker
Although this discussion thread was not initiated to review materials for studying Polish, as you seem to wish to begin with the Linguaphone Polish course, I feel that I would be remiss by responding to request without mentioning a very sound alternative; that is, Beginning Polish (Volumes 1 and 2) by Alexander Schenker. The FSI was one of the sponsor's for this course and the teaching methodology reflects their approach from the 1960's ... drill, drill, drill. If you decide to use this course, which, in my opinion, is vastly superior to the Linguaphone course, be sure to purchase both Volumes, as the second volume includes additional practice material to accompany the first volume and also includes an expanded discussion of grammar. The 60+ hours of audio files are FREE. Here are some LINKS:
Beginning Polish (vol.1)
Beginning Polish (vol.2)
Beginning Polish AUDIO (vol. 1 and 2)
HTLAL POLISH (CHUNG)
I have never mastered the How-To-Learn-Any-Language "Search" function. However, if you conduct a search and manage to recover Chung's discussion of Polish, you will be much the wiser.
Ciao for now!
