No, you should be okay; there's a couple of people in our team who only seem to be
studying Sinitic languages :) so we'll be happy to have you!

As Luna mentioned, some are just studying Sinitic languages, but also have side languages
too - I think the general idea with our team is to be studying at least one of the two
:P.

-Language: Korean

-Current level: Upper Beginner (6 months of study - 2 intensely and 4 too casually)

-Goals by the end of the year: Be able to hold everyday-type conversations on non-complicated issues. Be able to read and write at the same level.

-Looking for a team to keep me accountable and motivated.

-I am actually in Korea now and will be until 2013.

Can I join the Romance team please? If the group's too big, I'll settle for an individual challenge. My
immediate focus is French as that's where I'm living. My reading/comprehension is probably C1 but my
speaking B1. I'd like to complete a DELF exam at B2 or possibly C1 by the end of the year.

I also want to revive my Italian - it was C1/2 twenty years ago but feels non- existent. My aim would be to
be able to read with ease again. I also want to work through a grammar/workbook type thing to revive my
speech/writing. I guess I need to revive listening skills too.

I'd also like to work on a bit of Spanish. Not sure of my goal yet but I may move there for a while. My
current level is A2 at best though my French/Italian knowledge makes reading relatively easier.

I have an urge to learn Dutch or German but that's maybe the 2013 challenge.

PinkCordelia, even though the team is big, I don't think it'll be a problem having more participants. I don't expect that each and everyone will produce a huge text every single day so we can cope with it. So welcome to "The Romantics". And, will you keep your log?

I think I'll have to do an individual challenge, as there doesn't seem to be a team I can join with just German as my chosen language.

Though I expect I will start another language in the New Year at some point as well (probably French now that I have some materials for it). :)

It seems that East Asian Team might be a real thing, after all:

So I'm hereby establishing tentative East Asian team. Whether it actually forms depends on how you guys actually decide. There's still about a week left before the annihilation starts.

(Edited to add link to team log.)
