Reading about NATO is not the most enjoyable activity for a friday afternoon, but I'm glad the text was short. I'm slowly trying to read most of the text myself at the Newspaper Reader before resorting to the translation or the glossary.

So, i'm done with another dialogue from the Continuing Course. Considering it's only 15 dialogues, this means there are six left. I've checked and none of them is over 8 pages long, which means my reading pace will be as intense as of nowadays but won't get any worse. Then come prose and poetry, all of which got translations, which make the process easier.

ძალიან მიხარია, დღევანდელი გაზეთის ტექსტი რომ ადვილი იყო. მე კიდევ ერთხელ წავკითხე რამდენიმე ამბავები კავკასიის პოლიტიკის შესახებ.
დღეს ძალიან ცხელია. მუშაობაში კონდიცირებული ჰაერი ჯერ კიდევ არა გვაქვს. ბელო-ჰორიზონტეში გაზაფხულში ძალიან ცხელია, რადგან არასოდეს არ წვიმს. What is better to say, მიხარია or ბედნიერი ვარ? If I want to say I'm happy with a specific thing, that is, it makes me happy (ça me plaît, me gusta, мне нравится), using an indirect construction, it would make sense to use an indirect verb in Georgian like მიხარია, right? 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

I just figured out that I can access the site armazi.com at work if I ask Google for a translation instead (the domain is erroneously blocked by the internal proxy as 'games').

I still need a solid background on a few topics:
- The perfect (not only formation, but also usage; books seem to focus too much on how to form the tenses and teach little on how to use them) - The pluperfect (same as above) - The past participle - The future particle - Periphrastic constructions with to be + participles or pluperfect and to have + participles or pluperfect. I've read all of those topics briefly at Hewitt's Learner's grammar and Aronson's grammar. I'd like to know where I can find detailed info on that. Maybe just reading from a third approach would be enough. Perhaps at Hewitt's Structural grammar? Or maybe Fähnrich's Kurze Grammatik or the longer one would be enough. If not, I'll have to search through Tschenkéli. Any suggestions where to look? 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

რა დამთხვევაა!
დღეს მე ქართულს ვსწავლობდი, ამავე დროს როცა ერთი კოლეგა იჯდა კომპიუტერ მაგიდასთან ჩემ თავის მახლობელი და უყურებდა ფილმს Youtubeზე ზოგიერთი ომის შესახებ ((ხედავთ, რამდენი მუშაობა რომ აქ გვაქვს). დავამთავრე სწავლა, და, როცა მათ კომპიუტერის ეკრანზე კიდევ ერთხელ შევხედე, ვნახე ბრბო მოედანზე, საქართველოს დროშა რომ აფრიალებდა! რა დამთხვევაა! ვერასოდეს წარმოვიდგენდი, რომ ეს ფილმი საქართვლოს-რუსეთის ომის შესახებ იყოს. ხუმრობით ვუთხარი: "როგორ, შენ არ მითხრათ? ყოველდღე მიხედავ, ქართულს რომ ვსწავლობ, და არ მითქვი, ეს ფილმი საქაერთველოს შესახებ იყოს? უნდა მითხრა!“-მეთქი. ფილმი “აგვისტოს 5 დღე“-ა, და ამ ფილმს ბოლოს მისი ჩვენებას აძლევენ...ქართულად!, რომელიც მისი ვერსიაში არ დუბლირებული იყო. სამწუზაროდ არაფერი ვერ გავიგო :/ ____________________________________________________________ ________________________ What a coincidence! Yesterday I was studying Georgian and a colleague was sitting at a desk next to mine and was watching a movie about war at Youtube (you can see that sometimes we don't have much work here). I finished studying and when I looked at her computer's screen again, I saw a crowd at a square, waving Georgian flags!! What a coincidence! I could never imagine that film would be about the Georgian-Russian war. I told her, jokingly: "How come you didn't tell me? You see me study Georgian here everyday and you don't tell me you are watching a movie about Georgia? You should have told me". The movie is Five Days of August, and at the end of the movie, Georgians give their testimony...in Georgian, which didn't get dubbed at the version she got. Unfortunately I couldn't understand anything :/ __________________ Any corrections would be appreciated. It's a true story ;D I posted it in English too because there are several expressions I couldn't handle in any meaningful way in Georgian. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||
