To sit on my behind.

I don't see your point. Either politely point out the mistake or don't post here. I know
it means to read and I wanted a perfective form to get a future tense. Could be I need
another prefix, but hell if I know.

How wonderful that you are doing Hebrew! I love Hebrew - it has an energy to it like few other languages,
and as a language buff, dealing with a language which has been raised from the dead has an Indiana Jones
quality to it. Meeting people in Israel who have brought 5-6 languages along as heritage languages was also
an adventure for me. To say that my jaw dropped when I suddenly heard someone speak the Spanish of
1492 would be an understatement.

As a blonde woman I also enjoyed being in the only country in the Middle East where I could walk around
alone without getting harassed. Not that this applies to you :-)

Lots of luck! You almost sent me running down to the basement to find my Hebrew books - I have to resist
though, as I need to focus.

I never got the chance to visit Israel, despite me wanting to. One of my ex-girlfriends
is Jewish, and I did pick up like, ten words of Hebrew from her (and sat in on a Jewish
passover feast once even!). She had the annoying habit of transliterating Hebrew like a
French person would, though. Ch is not the same sound as H!!!!!!!! (even though she
clearly distinctly pronounced them...). But as you already know, I still remember the
Hebrew pleasantries (and surprised a few people with it at a party a while back).

I plan to spend some time visiting Israel. Maybe even live there temporarily. In that
case, Hebrew is indispensable as an asset.

Good luck to any potential harasser. I am twice their height ;)

Look what I found amongst my bookmarks: Если у вас нету тёти - иврит. אם אין לך דודה בליטא. This one's definitely for you, tarvos. ;)

Here's the thing about reading in Russian:

прочитать - to finish reading something
почитать - to read a bit of something

So when you say "Maybe I'll read tonight", почитать is the word you should be using. For example:

Может быть сегодня вечером я почитаю свой научный журнал.

Hi! I am on the second Russian TAC team. That's so cool you are learning Hebrew! I have
also been learning Hebrew for about five years now. Good luck and I look forward to
reading your log!
