I am just wondering if you can get any App's and other language things for the ipod touch?

I am learning Mandarin and have just got an ipod so would like to expand my learning methods as much as possible.

As I am new to ipod's, Any help and suggestion's would be very gratefull.

Pleco is the greatest app dictionary I know of. Its free to download but there are add-
ons that you will want to buy. I love the fact that it recognizes handwriting and that it
can create flashcards and test me on pretty much any aspect of the word (or phrase) that
I want it to. www.pleco.com

My boyfriend coded a Chinese-learning app for me. It's called IntenseChinese and teaches
you more words than you'll ever want to know. You can select what you want to learn by
category.

Also be sure to install the Chinese keyboard - it's not a keyboard so much as a
handwriting recognizer, which enables you to "type" Chinese characters in any app.

I know I'm repeating myself but I love that app. I'm working my way through Intense Spanish. For some reason, the Spanish vocabulary is sticking a lot better than the German vocabulary.
(Yes, I'm a serial shopper. I also purchased Intense German and Intense Latin.)

The following apps listed are paid apps unless otherwise mentioned.

Mindsnacks Mandarin is a fun game that helps you learn vocabulary.

Hancard is an app that allows you to purchase a pack containing all of the vocabulary
words for texts such as Integrated Chinese, Practical Chinese Reader, and New Practical
Chinese Reader

Laokang Tone trainer is a good app that teaches you how to identify different
combination of tone pairs. (used with Laokang Tone Test to identify skill level)

Dianhua, Pleco, and Nciku are all really good dictionary apps. (free with upgrade
options available)

Sticky Study Hanzi is an SRS app used for learning both the HSK vocabulary and
characters. They are divided into neat lists. It's also possible to set a goal date of
learning each level, and the app assigns a number of characters to learn and review in
order to reach that goal. Sticky Study Flash is also convenient in downloading
flashcards from Flashcard Exchange.

Forvo Chinese: Allows you to listen to user submitted recordings of words online
(available online)

CW Pinyin: convenient app that allows you to mix and match pinyin combinations and hear
what sound they make. (free)

If I think of some more I will try to expand this list!!
