Also, does anyone know if:

L'Arabe sans Peine ISBN: 2700502744

and

L'Arabe ISBN: 9782700502749

are the same book with just different titles? They both seem to have 77 lessons, but are
different lengths and one has a different cover. Thanks for any clarification help.

I am going to order the course with
audio once it is available on Amazon, but I really do hate paying for the super slowed
down stuff.

The dollar and euro are almost at parity, for the first time in ages ... it might be
worthwhile to order directly from Assimil for the courses.

edit: I just did a test run. Ordering direct it's 62 euro for the course, 17.50 euro
for shipping. Or, $84 US.     Other Assimil courses on Amazon range up to $140.

(I think I need to take a wander over to amazon.fr and go on a shopping binge)

It's the same, in theory. The newest one (with the cube on the cover) has usually a better presentation, with blue ink to separate the dialogs from the lexical part, etc, but it should be the same dialogs if they have not updated the book (I haven't heard it was updated, but you can contact Assimil to be sure)

I just went ahead and ordered with the audio. I download to sample, but do not mind at
all paying full price for good quality from language learning companies. I'd hate to see
them disappear!

It arrived quickly. Ordered on the 12th in the evening and arrived the 16th.

Assimil has released these new "editions" of these courses in March:

Assimil Le Polonais sans peine 3#super-pack-livre-cd-audio-cd-mp3">http://fr.assimil.com/me thodes/le-polonais-
3#super-pack-livre-cd-audio-cd-mp3

Assimil Le Tcheque sans peine pack-livre-cd-audio-cd-mp3">http://fr.assimil.com/methodes/l e-tcheque#super-pack-
livre-cd-audio-cd-mp3

Assimil Le Japonais du manga manga">http://fr.assimil.com/methodes/le-japonais-du-manga

A warning: I have heard the sample recordings of Assimil Le Tcheque sans peine. It is
the same as the old version, which I bought 2 years ago. So it is a repackaging rather
than a new edition!

Le Japonais du manga seems like a great concept. It's not unique, but I would hope it would follow something like the Assimil method (although there's no audio). It's interesting that it is targeted at C1. So it's not trying to be like so many "learning with comics" tools: weak comics for A1 students. Here's hoping they do similar things for other languages (e.g. a book about French BDs?)

The link above doesn't work, so here's a new one:
