I've never been a super-fan of Pimsleur but I'm subscribed to Simon and Schuster's newsletter and I just got this advertisement by email.

Apparently they're selling the old Pimsleur courses as mp3 and they've built some kind of 'interactive' software program (is there any other kind for language learning?) around them. I thought I'd let you know, just in case any brave soul (certainly not me) is interested and wants to comment on it here after trying it out...

It appears they added a vocabulary list, which is definitely a plus. Overall look reminds me of Fluenz. Interesting….

Not available in Mandarin. That's a shame, lack of written reference really slows me down.

Folks used to offer transcripts, but apparently actively tracks them down a quashes them for copyright infringement. I had one anyone for level I, but can't find II or III.

There's no Japanese, so I won't check in-depth, but I watched the video. So far, I saw nothing new and exciting. If the flash cards also use Pimsleur timing for SRS, now that would be nice.
