I don't know where on earth I could find 100 icelandic movies. If someone makes a list then I might go on a

No idea how much actual dialogue would be in it... but the Sigur Rós documentary "Heima"

Via IMDb. That lists 137 films, and from a quick look, at least some are Icelandic only. How you get them is another question of courses. The general languages list there looks really good - not really sure what the distinction is between common and less-common as Icelandic with 137 is included in common, but Slovene with 229 is less-common.
I'm going to try to include as many films as possible, and will watch any tv shows back-to-back until I get to film length as I think there's a real benefit to the longer exposure of a film. Luckily for me, the choice for Japanese is huge, and it's easy enough to get versions from Amazon UK. 1 person has voted this message useful | ||||||

That's a real difficulty of being in Australia. We don't have our own Amazon (not that that's a problem) but we can
order from other ones. Shipping, however, is extremely ridiculous. That's why I'm trying to use as many kindle resources as possible. I'm not sure what I'll do for films. I have Amelie somewhere, although there are only so many times I can watch that, seeing as I've seen it before. Being a student at uni (not in languages) I have access to our library, so there are a few options there. We actually have a French Film festival at the moment (or soon) but I don't want to pay $20 or so per movie when I'll struggle to understand them. If I was buying, I wouldn't mind as I'd be able to rewatch. Perhaps next year I can go and hope to understand some aspects. I hope I can find books too. You may already know about Book Depository, but if not, I recommend them: www.bookdepository.co.uk. (There's also a dot-com site.) Free delivery, worldwide. They don't stock DVDs, however. To limit by language, do an Advanced Search. Then you can type in John Grisham, or Harry Potter, or whatever you wish in the author or title fields respectively. I've found them reliable as far as delivery goes. Prices can be a bit higher than on one of the Amazon sites, but once one has added Amazon's delivery charges, they compare quite favourably. They've recently (last Autumn) been bought by Amazon (see Guardian article ), but the takeover doesn't seem to have so far affected the policy of free deliveries. 4 persons have voted this message useful |
