My personal favorites are Richard and Luca. I can't judge them on their abilities (except in English), but from what I have read they seem to be universally acknowledged as highly fluent in many or all of their languages, and yet I have never seen a hint of arrogance, combativeness, or condescension from either of them. The way they both combine enormous dedication and skill with humility and encouragement of other learners is truly inspiring to me.

Yes. I don't know much about Luca, but Richard is very encouraging and tries to help other aspiring polyglots as much as he can, and like you said, he is humble and down-to-earth about his acheivement. Those are the main reasons Richard is one of my favorite polyglots. He also says anyone can do what he does if they put enough time into it.

Agreed. I like Richard's attitude. I think Luca's pretty encouraging, too.

That said, I've never understood why this community (not just HTLAL, but online language learners in general) feels the need to rank how successful a polyglot is. It's pretty subjective, in my opinion. Some can achieve an A2 level and be quite confident in what they say and how they present themselves, while someone else claims a B2 and comes across as unsure of him/herself.
