Aqui está fazendo sol hoje. O dia está muito lindo! Esta manhã no trem eu fiz apenas Anki nos meus estudos de português. Geralmente, a sexta-feira não é um dia de estudar português, mas no trabalho tenho um pouco de tempo livre. Então estou pensando em ler e ouvir uma radionovela da Deutsche Welle que se chama "um-jogo/a-5643117">Futebol em África – Muito mais do que um jogo." Há (Tem is less formal and more natural, but you can stick with is more grammatical for the time being) tantas palavras que não sei, mas acho que a radionovela é muito interessante. Like I said, it's mostly word order and a few prepositions and article usage. We usually say "a Deutsche Welle", "a BBC", "A CNN", because the word "emissora" = broadcaster is assumed. Either it is emissora de rádio ou emissora de televisão. In Portuguese, unlike Spanish, the final i's and u's always bear the stress inherently. So, you don't need accent marks over final i's and u's. That's why we write aqui, ali, tabu, Jesus all without an accent mark. Muito as an adverb is invariable. That is, when you translate "very" into "muito", this muito is an adverb, and thus doesn't change number or gender. On the other hand, when it's "many" it's a pronoun, and you must pay attention to gender and number agreement. Just a final remark, I know that the DVD is African/European, and in Brasil we would say "Futebol na África".We tend to add articles to place names more often than the European speakers do. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||

I see. Is this connected to "a sua rádio", which I see sometimes on Brazilian radio webpages? It confused me because I thought "rádio" was masculine. Thank you very much for the corrections! Yes, it is. A rádio is "a emissora de rádio", so, yes, it's feminine.

KUJI'S WEEK IN REVIEW: 1 April - 7 April 2013
My Goals JAPANESE * Do one chapter of IAIJ a month. So far, so good. About 25% done with Chapter 8. * Do one JP101 podcast a week, if possible. JP101 didn't release any Upper Beginner or Lower Intermediate podcasts on the free feed last week, so I used the extra time for IAIJ. I think my podcast catcher might have grabbed one for this week, though. * Add any useful words/kanji from my notebook into Anki by Sunday. Affirmative. * Keep up with Anki reviews. Roger. PORTUGUESE * Do one lesson of DLI Portuguese Basic a week. I almost completed this one. I did all of Volume 2 Lesson 14, except for the reading at the end. I'll finish that up today (April 9th), then move on to Lesson 15. * Do one PT101 podcast a week, if possible. Yep. * Add any useful words from my notebook into Anki by Sunday. Yep. * Keep up with Anki reviews. Yep. A reasonable amount of green here (which is good, because green is my favorite color). In addition to the above, as I stated in a previous post, I worked a little with a Deutsche Welle Portuguese radionovela, and I also worked with the Japanese-English bilingual text of "The Little Prince." Kuji, here you have 15 pages of free Brazilian ebooks, from one of the biggest bookstores. They're not classical litterature only, on the contrary, at the first page I've seen loads of up-to-date novels from the past decades.

É difícil para um estrangeiro cadastrar no site. Não tenho CPF. Nem aceita números de passaportes estrangeiros. Eu tinha que usar um site de gerador de CPF. Já cadastrei, mas os livros não estão disponíveis fora do Brasil. Já escrevi a Saraiva mas não espero a receber uma resposta positiva. Acho que os sites brasileiros não querem o dinheiro dos gringos, ou neste caso- $R0. É muito frustrante.

Oh guys I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. I thought it had nothing to do with licensing, DRM or whatever. It seems to work like other bookstores, where you have to "buy" the free book. If you guys became interested in one of those books and want advice on it, feel free to ask me.
