Very interesting, actually -- in Spanish, we have "canícula" (meaning "dog days" via Latin etymology) for the hottest days around midsummer, while "día(s) de perros" (literally "a dog's day(s)") are days that turn out to be very unpleasant, but the literal expression is completely unrelated to climatology so you can't foresee when you'll have a "dog's day". 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||
