Well, I never said it was used in this way in Mexico (although it might be soon if it
isn't already: Chicano usages tend to surface in Mexico sooner or later, especially along
the border.) I have, however, definitely heard Mexican/American men use it with each
other (as a form of address) when they are speaking only in Spanish.
