We have a few intrepid and erudite people on the forum who are studying ancient Egyptian, particularly since the Assimil course was published.

For those who might like to branch out into a somewhat more recent (I won't say "modern"...) version of the language, there's a textbook of Demotic Egyptian that you can download here:
