Bonjour!

Hello! Sorry for my bad French, but it's the first time I've written in French. I've been studying French seriously for about a month, and I thought that I want to have a blog here for practice and motivation. I hope to update this blog every week.

In the future I'm going to write more about my plan, my motivations behind studying French, what I want to accomplish, and the languages that I've already studied, but right now I'm hella tired because it's hard for me to write in French!

4. Podcasts pour apprenants
     Journal en français facile
     Learn French by Podcast

Translation of previous post.

Currently, I want to concentrate of passive skills, and once I think I understand French well enough (written and spoken) and that I have a fundamental vocabulary and grammatical comprehension, I'll start to work on my pronunciation and I'll try to speak and write in French (aside from here).

My plan for studying French:

1. Ultimate French (Beginner-Intermediate)
In this book, I study three chapters a week. I spend around 20 minutes with each chapter; I study one on Saturday, one on Monday, and one on Wednesday. Also, I commute by bus, so every morning I listen to all the recordings from these three chapters (dialog, vocab, and "on-the-go" lessons).

2. Anki
I have three decks for French -- grammar, vocab, and sentences. I study them every day (vocab = 5 min, grammar = 2 min, sentences = 3 min). If I try to study more/longer, I get bored.

3. Listening
At work, I listen to around 2-4 hours of French podcasts (100% in French, for French speakers). I don't pay much attention to them, so I don't know if this helps at all...

4. Podcasts for learners -- Journal en français facile and Learn French by Podcast
I listen to them on the bus on the way back from work. I also add sentences that I find interesting to my Anki.

5. Reading
Every weekend, I read websites in French, or sometimes the book Read & Think French (even though I don't really like this book). When I find a grammatically interesting sentence, I add it to Anki.

That's all I do to study French right now. When I finish the Ultimate French book in December, I'll make a new plan.

If you have any suggestions, let me know. And feel free to correct my terrible French!

You've only been studying French for a month? That's incredible. I can't believe you're already able to write whole
posts. Keep up the amazing work and best wishes!

Hi Vinnet, thanks for the kind words! Actually I sort of studied French off an on for a while now. And it takes me like an hour to even write a short paragraph, which I'm sure is full of errors. So really it's not that impressive :/

Well, I haven't written here in quite some time, but that doesn't mean I haven't been studying! On Sunday I finally finished Ultimate French. (I say "finally" because after 40 chapters, it was starting to get on my nerves!) My flashcards now contain over 1,000 sentences and over 1,600 vocab words (not that I've studied all of them).

For the next week or two (or maybe until after New Years), I'm just going to cruise along with my French, doing flashcards and listening / reading / watching TV, but not actively studying.

I'm going to use that time to plan out what I want to do for my next stage of Spanish and French. I am considering taking DELE C2 in Spanish at the next convocatoria, and I want to get good enough in French that I can attend meetups and also that I can start German next summer.

If anybody out there is reading this and knows of a good online tutor for French and for Spanish (peninsular variety), for example on Myngle or iTalki, please let me know!

http://www.rtve.es/television/isabel-la-catolica/
(En esa página también hay mapas que corresponden a cada episodio, eso también me encanta!)

I've been studying for 6/7 weeks and I can't even imagine writing posts like those. I
guess it says more about my ability than yours but awesome stuff. You've given me some
inspiration for the new year.
