Does anyone know which book these famous words begin?

My guess is that if the original is not in German (as the previous posts suggest), then it's not Kafka... It's more likely to be the book emk is reading at the moment, i.e. a French book published in 1942 by Albert C. ;) 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Vermillon is right, though no one yet has spelt out the name of the book. I love the attitude of Mersault in this book: "I said I didn't care".
I'll give you a tip though, it's called Útlendingurinn in Icelandic, Den fremmede in Norwegian and Der Fremde in German :) 1 person has voted this message useful |
