it's a contraction, colloquial speech, but not necessarily dialectal
the full form is:
Wo bist denn du?

it's rather northern than southern (at least I wouldn't pronounce it like that), but I think you can hear it in a lot of places

edit: you can actually here it also in the South, but with different forms like "Wo bist'n du?" or "Wo bischt'n du?" (the latter in Tyrol for example)

"denn" gets contracted pretty often in colloquial speech. You might hear for example "Wer
hat'n das gesagt?"

It's North Western for sure. I have heard that and similar in Cologne.

I disagree. That way of speaking is not limited to any specific regions of Germany.

Okay, I'm not a native speaker so I'll have to defer to you on that.

What about "Was'n das'n?" Regional?

I can't really imagine hearing it here unless by people who play up a non-local dialect/accent they have or copying things they've seen on tv.

speaking for the southwest of Germany: "Wo bisch?" (Wo bist du?)
and "Wasch'n dess?" (Was ist denn das?)
