[An interesting anthology of more modern and factual texts about Norway and Norwegians; includes wordlists and expressions translated into English. For intermediate readers]. Norsk-Engelsk Ordbok: a pronouncing and translating dictionary of modern Norwegian. Haugen, Einar. Oslo: Universitetsforlaget, 4. utgave, 1996. ISBN: 82-00-22722-7. [Still the best dictionary out there for translating Norwegian into English. Includes both Bokmål AND Nynorsk, marking these separately in the text. Also notes when words are "Samnorsk". Gives very useful grammatical information, like the gender of nouns and declines verbs. Gives variant spellings. Typography is very clear and easy to read. Includes examples of usage from writers like Ibsen and Bjørnson. Also very handy when trying to write Norwegian.
