Today I watched an 80 minute episode of Tatort. I didn't catch everything, but much
more than enough to enjoy it, and I understood the plot perfectly well.

Also, I wrote a Japanese lang-8 entry yesterday... ugh so many hilariously bad errors..

Thanks for the reminder about Tatort. They have some interesting episodes, but I always have to figure out the time it is available for viewing online here since it has adult themes and limited hours of availability. This can be a problem since our time zone is 8-9 hours off from Europe. Do you watch it with the German subtitles on or off? Once I watched an episode set in Wien and I had to turn them on since a few of the characters were using pretty heavy Austrian dialects. Even with the captioning on, it was a bit of a struggle. Hochdeutsch by comparison seemed like a breeze.

I found full episodes (even from 2013) on Youtube without subs. I have only watched one
episode though, since they are all about 90 minutes long..

I keep forgetting about posting in here...

I spent the weekend starting the 15th on reunion at the folkehøgskole I went to last
year in southwestern Norway, and the 22nd I finally went home. (Yes, I did spend 4 days
in England between the two weekends.)

So, now I'm at home, revising and studying Japanese and German. Well, my studies aren't
really that interesting right now, and I'm spending more time with my brothers so I
don't really read or listen much to Japanese or German these days.

In terms of Anki, I add about 25 cards a day now, about 50% from subs2srs (Death Note)
and the other 50% are "J-J definition branching" cards. I hope that I will take up
reading and listening to a large extent during the summer break, which starts 31st of
May. Also, my twin brother heads back to Eastern Norway on the 1st and my younger
brother has school as well on the second... so I might up my immersion a bit that week
since my Easter break last until the 8th.

I can't believe how quickly this year runs by... we're already at the end of the third
month. I guess time starts flowing quickly when you reach the ripe old age of 20. :p
(Just kidding, of course.)

I have 3570 cards in my Japanese Anki deck now, and expect to reach 4000 during the
first or second week of April, and 5000 in mid-June.

I don't really do any output either, except from writing an odd youtube comment here
and there in broken German..

Peace out!

Well, perhaps it's about time I make a March summary.

Let's get the SRS stats over with:
German (173 +12% of goal [155])
Japanese (552; +78% of goal [310])

I haven't done as much reading this month as I did in February, but I've been listening
a little bit to the languages every day.

Honestly, there's not much to say, except that I'm still going strong. :D

Man, I don't know how you do it. I'm starting to feel pressure after just 200 Anki cards!

I have played around with Anki though, and did some changes to make it slightly
lighter:

-250% interval modifier for the sentence deck (no apparent negative effects after three
months)
- 20% interval for failed cards (instead of one day for all failed cards)
- 20d-30d initial interval button for cards that are way too easy.

This gives me about 90-120 cards (including 10-30 new cards) to review every day.

Also, I broke a new personal record: 7.1 reviews per minute. My previous record, from 3
months ago was 6.2 ...
