Finally, it’s time to close out my TAC 2013 log. If there’s one thing I’ve realised about keeping a TAC log and goals, it’s that they’re very likely to change over the year. I never would’ve predicted that I’d spend so long studying Malay. I’m happy enough with the results even though I failed to achieve most of my TAC goals. My biggest failure was the Super Challenge. Somehow I only watched ten films in French, but I did watch a lot of French television. Regarding the books I completed 17, but this included completing all written exercises, as most of them were French courses written entirely in French. Unfortunately, this was way below my target of 50.
Final results Romance: 641 hours (Spanish-117,French-519,Italian-5) – TAC Goal Reached Slavic: 145 hours (Russian-110, Polish-21, Bulgarian-13) Celtic: 39 hours (Irish-38, Gaelic-1.5) Finno-Ugraic:45 hours (Hungarian-45) Others: 119 hours (Malay-119) Total:- 992 hours Edited by DaraghM on 03 January 2014 at 10:22am 3 persons have voted this message useful | |

No Super Challenge, but still some impressive 992 hours! That's nearly three times as much as I did! It seems as if I only did 363 hours (the lowest amount since 2008 when I started taking notes), but 2013 was still a special year for me (I learned more Irish than I could dream of).

You averaged over 2.7 hours per day, and studied 10 languages acrosss five language families. That's flippin' brilliant, DaraghM - a great end-of-year result! :)
