ah ... got it
checking in Bokmålsordboka isn't always successful with such words *g*

is it actually an analogy (no pun intended) to kompis?

Hardly. I think it is just a coincidence that the words are very similar.

On that same line of thinking, I thought I'd present you with some news from Sweden.

Now one of the cultural things you need to know about the Scandinavian countries is that we love to make fun of eachother, and in particular the Swedes and the Norwegians. We have "wars of jokes" raging, where none of us ever win, because most of the jokes are so lame that you just want to bang your forhead against the wall. We love eachother to death, and have eachother's back in a tight spot, but if we can find a reason to riducule the other, we enjoy it thoroughly.

99 out of a 100 cases I see, where I feel like sharing something which show the Swedes as slightly backwards, I leave it be, but this one actually surprised me, so I'll include it. I will be kind to them, and not include all the jokes that was told at my workplace at their expense when this hit the news though.

And to be a good sport, I do of course not mind if the Swedes on the forum find similar little gems about the Norwegians :-)

I am unable to make a hyperlink from my machine at work - so if you are interested to see what it is you have to do this manually.

I don't think what's worse, the story or the fact there's an ad from WWF right below it o.O

God Almighty. I did not notice that one. I wonder who thought that would be an appropriate place for such an
ad.

Hej Vikings!

Here’s a short update of what’s available to watch on SVTPlay.

For those who’d like to start watching some Swedish TV but hesitate because they fear that their language is still too weak, I’ve added a couple of children programmes as well, which may be easier to understand. And keep in mind that if you click on the “T” button on the video-player you can visualize the subtitles which, I assure you, are a great help.

Johnny och Johanna: 12-part children TV-series – each episode lasts about 30 min (first episode available until 30 June 2013, last episode available until 19 July 2013).

Häxan Surtant: 6-part children TV-series – each episode lasts about 15 min (available until 5 July 2013).

Fadern - Fadern: based on Strindberg’s drama – 1h 34min (available until 21 July 2013).

Skärgårdsdoktorn: 6-part TV-series (available until 28 July 2013).

Ett köpmanshus i skärgården: 6-part TV-series from 1973 – each episode lasts about 1 hour (available until 25 August 2013)

Öbergs på Lillöga: 10-part TV-series from 1983 – each episode lasts about 45 min (available until 17 September 2013)

EDIT: fixed a broken link
