This is the second Romance Team for TAC 2013.
Anyone studying Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Latin, and/or Catalan are welcome here. I'm not concerned with how big we get. You are only expected to read the logs of teammates who share a target language with you. It would be nice if you would also follow the logs of people who are studying your native language. (Of course, you are more than welcome to follow everyone else, too.) I think this will lead to a more unified group, and at the same time not overwhelm people with 20+ logs to read. The reason I suggested this sub-team approach is because there are quite a few people studying more than one Romance language. Making a French only team, or a Spanish only team, would not fit a lot of the people who are here because they are studying multiple Romance languages. The entire purpose of having a team for the total annihilation challenge is to support each other. You don't "have" to do anything, but if you want to be a part of the team, you are expected to read the logs of your teammates. That's why we don't want super huge teams. The idea of a team is to support each other, and to get support from your teammates. My proposal with Team Two is that everyone supports teammates who have similar goals. I don't follow people who study Chinese, because I have no interest in learning that language (right now). I don't understand their questions, comments, struggles, and triumphs. There are people on the Romance team that are only studying French, and have zero interest in Portuguese or Spanish. This way, they get support from (and give support to) the people who have the same goals as they do. This way, we can include people studying only one or two Romance languages without excluding those who are interested in three or four of them, and vice versa. EDIT: Per the new TAC rules, we are limited to about 15 members, so I think everyone should read the logs of all teammates. I'm glad you started a new team. I will start putting new additions on this team. I think smaller teams will be more unified. It's hard to get the team spirit going when there are so many. And I think there are so many on the team who haven't done TAC before and therefore don't realize how much work it is keeping track of all those logs.
I like the name Pax. I like Romulan too, but I think Romulan and Remus is a little silly. It might be ok with Romulus and Remus, but not Romulan. Also Pax is very short and one has to consider the character limit in log titles, especially since some people are on more than one team. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Congratulations on a second Romance team! I think that was a really good move, as things were getting
