Hello all,

It seems as though the FSI course website (fsi-language-courses.org) is down - it has
been down for about four days now. Does anyone know if there's a mirror anywhere else, or
is anyone willing to mail the mp3s/PDF to me? I'm on unit 11 in Spanish Basic, and I'd
hate to have to drop it now.

Thanks so much!

I really hope the site comes back online. It's an invaluable resource where Daristani, Oberon, and others, spent a significant effort sourcing, extracting and uploading material.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed as well that the site comes back online. Old-timers on the forum will recall that the original FSI courses site was created by forum member gdfellows as a result of discussions on HTLAL, and that it went down temporarily more than once, leading to the creation of the current site as a backup against the event the original one disappeared permanently -- which it eventually did.

In the worst case, even if the site doesn't come back, I've got a few of the courses in my computer, and I'm sure various others do as well, and so it should be possible to reconstitute it to some degree, or minimize the extent of the loss, with a cooperative effort. (Indeed, Quique has already provided one of the most popular courses at the site.) Still, though, let's hope that the site comes back. (Even though there hadn't been many updates recently, it did get plenty of users, per my understanding, and was a real treasure trove to language learners everywhere.)

I'm sure I'm not the only one to have these courses, but I could contribute both
Turkish and Bulgarian, if needed.

In any case, I'm sure it'll be back online at some point. I get a 503 message: "Server
currently undergoing maintenance.", so the server's still there.

That is unfortunate. I was hoping to learn a lot of languages via the FSI website.

Does anyone have the materials downloaded? I have some of the books but I never got
around to the tapes. I have both French Phonology books, the first German book and the
Hebrew book.
