Bonjour à tous, je m'appelle Utku et j'suis turc. Pendant cette période de TAC2013 je
vais me focaliser sur le français. Mon but est d'obtenir le niveau C1 vers la fin de l'année. A cause d'être un étudiant de médecine, franchement j'ai parfois des difficultés de trouver des temps libres pour les études de langues. Mais si l'apprentissage des langues est votre plaisir, il vous séduit bien afin que vous vous intéressiez à lui. Most of your links don't work. The reason is that there is that the part from TID is on a new line. If you put your cursor right before the T in TID and press backspace, it should be OK. (Only on the ones that aren't working/don't look right. If you do it on the others then you will delete something important.)

Resources I plan to use during this year's TAC:
Alter Ego 3 : Corresponds to B1. I'll proofread this book for vocabulary checking. Alter Ego 4&5 : Correspond to B2 and C1&C2 respectively. Coursebooks, or as originally called méthode de français, have been my main resources since starting from scratch. I had used Café Crème and Taxi! series when I was beginner. I learnt a lot from them. Pro's and con's : (+) 100% French input. More data, catagorized by theme. ( - ) you need immense amounts of patience to work with dictionary, which can be boring sometimes. I have always been disagree with "Coursebooks are for in school use" motto. In my opinion, they're excellent resources even for beginner self-learners . Secondly, I'll do French accent rebuilding. I find Assimil's recordings quite successful especially for the acquisition of the stressed syllable of words. New French with Ease : Specially for listening, I don't plan to spend time on explanatory notes. Using French : Along with Alter Ego 4&5, I aim to study this book, too. Le français des médecins : This book&dvd couple aims to teach French learning medical students/doctors medical French. Consists of theme-based explanations, tables, small video clips and documents. I'm having my faculty education in Turkish and many medical resources are in Turkish and English. I want to learn medical French in order to be ready for any possible clinical opportunities in France. ---- I don't write here grammar books. ---- Skype sessions : They're absolutely my number one needs for improving my speaking skills. I would like to find new friends on web and also I'll pay attention to join Skype sessions with Romulan members. Sometimes I may also borrow reading ans exam-preparation materials from French Cultural Center in my city. If I study as an hardworking kid completely all I mentioned above, I'll start to read regularly French news for vocabulary expansion. ***** FINAL GOAL : I want to become a C1 French speaker by the end of the year. ***** Go Romulans! I started with Alter Ego 3..
It is consisted of 9 "dossier" , each based on a different theme. I have completed first 2 units. To be honest, I didn't expect to be introduced to such amount of new vocabulary in the beginning. As this book is a 100% French source, I spend a lot of time with dictionary for searching unknown words. I prefer a native dictionary : Larousse.fr Yes, all this study is time-consuming, and sometimes boring. But I must admit that I'm feeling that I really solidify my vocabulary when I'm using this book with dictionary because when I look for a new word, I also read its related idioms, root and derivations of the word. I highlight all new words and "must-be-revised" expressions with a textliner pen. While I'm continuing new dossiers, I'll repeat regularly previous units by proofreading and paying attention to highlighted words. Tomorrow, I'm starting Assimil New French with Ease from scratch. My French level is already higher to use NFWE but my main intention for Assimil is clarify my French accent with its step by step gradation.
