I am getting ready to begin tackling Harry Potter in French, and I'd like to do it with the audio, but I don't want to buy the audiobook if it is abridged. I have found Harry Potter a L'Ecole des Sorciers on mp3 CD on Amazon.co.uk, but there is no indication if it is complete or abridged. Does anyone know?

The length indicated on the publisher's JEUNESSE/Ecoutez-lire/Harry-Potter-a-l-ecole-des-sorciers">w ebsite is 'about 8 hours', which is suspiciously
short for a 300–400-page(?) book. In spite of this, there's no mention of the audio book being abridged, which is
fairly essential information, so I'm not sure what to think.

EDIT:
Heh, not sure how I managed to miss the 'texte intégrale'. On the bright side, I guess I was still half-right thanks to
the unintentionally clever wording of my post. ;-)

Thank you for that link. The description there does say, "Texte intégral", which I assume means the complete text?

It sounds about right, more or less. The first book in Italian is 9.2 hours.

My daughter has it since Christmas. It's unabridged. No worries. It's clearly written at the back of it "texte
intégral".

There's only the mp3 on the CDs. You can copy it on any mp3 reader but it can't be listened through a normal
CD player.

Hi Valy, depending on what software you have on your computer, you should be able to copy the mp3 files onto your PC and then burn audio CDs from there. I guess you would need a few CDs for eight hours...

Several years ago, my wife bought me an unabridged French audiobook of Harry Potter. It's just over 8 hours long.

I did some listening/reading with chapter one, and found only one or two sentences that didn't match the text. Some of the voices are a little silly, but overall it's a good choice for L/R.
