New year, new team, new resolutions and a new log. I will update this post regularly to show my current plan. Also, to anyone interested in this log, I would recommend skip the 10 first posts as they held absolutely no interest.
This year, I plan to study Esperanto and Spanish, in both of which I am a low level beginner (A1). I am currently working on Esperanto only and will add Spanish in a few weeks.
My current plan is
Daily routine in Esperanto :
- Reading : 30 mn -> currently reading Alice in wonderland
- Anki : 5 mn
- One wikipedia article
Short term objectives in Esperanto : done
Middle term objectives in Spanish : Before the 31st of December
- Finish the Half Super Challenge (7.3 movies left)
- Finish the Duolingo Spanish tree (48 units left)
- Finish the Inspired Beginner series by Notes in Spanish podcast (15 lessons left)

I guess I should also state what my objectives for 2013 are.
For Esperanto : attain a level of fluency that I am happy with. This is a very subjective definition but I am not sure how good I will need or want to be in Esperanto but basically, I would like to be "finished" with my active study of Esperanto in 2013.
So current level A1, planned level on December 31st, 2013 : B2 (?).
For Spanish : just stick to it would already make me happy.
If I make it, then my second objective would be to be able to read comfortably in that language, at least fast enough that I could watch a TV show or movie with Spanish subtitles only. Native but "simple" content will be enough for this year.
If I manage to do that and still have time for improvement, I will try to get be listening skills good enough to watch an average movie or TV show without subtitles.
It's quite hard for me to assess if those goals are realistic or not since I did not try to read books in English or watch TV shows without subtitles before I was fairly fluent but I noticed that most of my friends with lesser levels of English were able to do so before I was. I do not need active skills for the moment so I will not set an objective regarding those.
So current level A1, planned level on December 31st, 2013 : B2 in passive skills (?).

Report for day 1:
Esperanto :
- Learn 100 new words (wordlist): OK (took me nearly 2 hours including the Anki review)
- Do an Anki review : OK
- Listen to at least 1 music : OK (Pafklik, la malnova balancilo, la porkoj)
- Watch 1 short video : OK (Zippy the Zebra : only got the gist of it)
- Read 1 chapter of "La eta princo" in Esperanto : OK (chapter 2 to 4, took me quite some time - may be 1 hour for 10 pages - even though I practically know this book by heart and I had to check in the French version a few times)
Spanish :
- Listen to Spanish music or radio for at least 1/2 hour : OK with lyricstraining

Don't tell me how it ends. I have started and stopped this book in French about dix times and have not gotten past chapter 4 (not from lack of interest, just lack of effort), so if Darth Vader turns out to be the little guy's père or something like that, I would rather learn it directly en français myself.

I had bought the book for my boyfriend at the beginning of his French study some 3 years ago because it is a very simple and beautiful story. I don't think he has even made it to chapter 4 now; what I only realized afterwards is that while the story is simple, the words, grammar and expressions used by St-Exupéry aren't.
