I was just in the library in Corby (Northamptonshire, England), and they have a shelf of
readers from the Cambridge English Readers series. If I was learning English, this would
be a brilliant resource. They start from a fairly simple level, and run up to
essentially normal novels (they describe them as C1, but there's no way they're that
high). All of them came with a CD as well. What was great is that they are all made for
adult learners of English. In fact, a few of them had a warning on the back that they
contained adult themes.
I have posted this for the information of English learners. But also to ask if there is
anything like this in French? I have some CLE and Hachette readers, but they are a bit
short and a bit young (they seem targeted to people around 13). What is the French for
"French for foreign learners"?
