I'd like to upgrade my 2nd generation iTouch and buy a 5th generation model in order to use the official Quizlet app.

Can someone inform me about the differences between the Quizlet website and the Apple version? How different is the interface, the flashcard modules?

I'm a fan of the new flashcard mode of Quizlet and if I can use the iTouch app offline with multilingual TTS options (as on the site), I will definitely buy one. In the summer I could walking all day in the park listening my beloved sentences.

I tried Quizlet and if I remember correctly, it was the one that allowed adding or
changing cards on in the web browser, not in the app.

Thank you for the answer, Cavesa. It's not a problem for me if there's a sync, deckdownload option or an alternative solution like Quizlety (I've found it now). Editing cards on a Touch is rather uncomfortable anyway.

My primary concern is about text-to-speech.

Here is the feature list from iTunes.

Features
* Full integration with your Quizlet.com account
* Audio in 18 languages
* Search 21+ million flashcard sets
* 3 distinct study modes - Flash Cards, Learn, and Scatter
* Works offline
* 100% FREE
* And much much more...

What I don't know whether I need internet connection for using the text-to-speech or the 'works offline' feature means I can access the sounds offline as well.

Basically I'm only interested if TTS is accessible offline otherwise I don't want to waste my money.

If one of the features is "100% FREE", why would you be worried about wasting your money?

As you obviously know, the iTouch itself is not free. [See also: "I'd like to upgrade my 2nd generation iTouch and buy a 5th generation model in order to use the official Quizlet app."]

Tunein is a web radio app
that allows you to search by region, language, genre, etc. as well as allowing favouriting and listening to
prerecorded radio programs.

A+ Pro is my
alternative solution to Anki. You can backup and download cards via Quizlet which is great and although
typing flashcards out on a touch screen may be difficult, typing them on a keyboard or copying them
from a text into Quizlet is not difficult at all! I've made thousands of flashcards in the last six months
since I bought my machine.

Skype is
great on mobiles because of the camera feature and decent microphone usage. I've had hour-long
conversations with Saudi Arabians, Egyptians, French and Russian folks, in a private study at the library,
in the passenger seat caught in traffic, even outside on a nice day.

Thanks for all of these resources, you guys. I don't have anything to add that hasn't been mentioned but I want you to know that your suggestions are appreciated.

Edit: Actually I do have one app called TV France that I've found to be useful. It has over a dozen French television channels and some African ones and I think at least one Canadian station.
