A day of being almost impossibly lazy.
Forgot to mention that since Sunday I'm watching White Collar series, good English practice for me... could be if there weren't subs. I managed to watch first season with English ones, but now I'm sticking to Russian because I'm too lazy to look for English ones, haha. Anyway, as I've written here before, that's quite a challenge to me, sometimes I nearly see English words in my mind instead of subs... after hearing the text and looking to Russian version, I think. Anyway, I still think that this is not helping with my awful audio comprehension. I'll work on it sometime later when I wouldn't be that busy. Tomorrow may be the beginning of some freedom time - that won't be for long but it's enough for me that it just will be.

On Friday I've finally broke free (that sounds like quote of Dream Theater's Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From a Memory song Finally Free, haha!) from the first part of end-semester nightmare. Since that I'm busy being INCREDIBLY lazy. Once I deal with New Year stuff (which is big, very big in Russia - in case if someone doesn't know), I'll probably go on hard studying in order to pass two my exams. If somehow I would be going to the third one (which is English)... well, the chances that I don't get even 3/5 will be very low, I hope.
I'm stuck with White Collar and English songs, hence there is no German around. That's bad, but I'll better be hungry for it after session is over. I watching series with Russian subs, I do notice mistakes in translation, but I'm still too lazy and scared to take subs off. Maybe boredom will kick me to the experiments, but now I'm quite comfortable with what I have.

Language situation hasn't changed. At all.
I discovered that my top list of music of 2013 is surrounded with German one. That is not a surprise, but just another confirmation of language that stuck to me. Even though I do not get to actually learn something about it, there was kinda good atmosphere of it and if this won't go away forever, it'll help me with studies.
And, yeah, Happy New Year! I'm more of "you too" kind of people, but I have to say that somewhere :)

И вас :)
Каждый год смеюсь над словом "наступающий"... звучит так, словно речь не о празднике, а об урагане :)

Наверно одно и то же. После праздника, похож на город после урагана.

This is my first post here in 2014, hence I should mention that I participate in following TAC teams:
- team STARt (active, team leader)
- team Asgard (observer)
- team Spaß (observer)
- team Advanced ESL (observer)
However, my status in two last teams may change with time.

I'm drunk with watching series. No, really, I've had enough of that and I have to drop it tomorrow and study something for exams (aaah...). I watched all White Collar episodes, first episode of 3rd Sherlock, Christmas Special of Downton Abbey... I also have seen Operation: Livecrime - just a rock opera by Queensrÿche, no more no less; went through Shutter Island instead of full-time re-watching...
Of course I used subs wherever I could find them - and, actually, that's why I wasn't really comfortable with that rock opera (I don't know the scenario very well). Feeling tired after all of this and realizing that my subtitles addiction is a painful thing led me to an experiment.
Here comes the offended German, sees me in trouble and just adds up to them.
I've watched Das Doppelte Lottchen with original sound and without any subs. I wasn't very attentive (thanks to the games on my phone) but even if was - I had to turn volume up on maximum and remember the script quite good to realize that I should fight with that addiction from the beginning.
Some words did get to my ears (as usual), but I didn't extract anything useful for me so far. So I can surely say that for now my experiment is totally failed.
But... the year only begins and, maybe, I'll reach my nearly impossible target by the end of it if I'll just be as brave as I was today? :)
