Kjersti A Skomsvold I tend to have a weakness for thoughtful and to varying degrees realistic, but slightly offbeat, amusing, quirky writing. I stumbled on these by chance, and really enjoyed them. Can anyone recommend any others (of any nationality)? I also like Per Petterson, although he is neither quirky nor amusing, and may even be very slightly boring. But I like the memories and images he conjures up, and it's also nice to read things relaistically portrayed from the perspective of poor or working class people.
