"The Learning Revolution" - Jonathan Solity "Revealed: the secrets of the Michel Thomas Method" As it's published by Hodder Education, one might wonder if it's part of a plug for the MT courses, but let's put that to one side. I re-discovered this on my shelves yesterday, having completely forgotten about buying it. It was first published in 2008 and mine seems to be a 2012 printing, so I presumably must have only bought it last year, therefore I am surprised that I had forgotten all about it already. Has it already been mentioned on HTLAL? Quite probably, but I'm afraid I've been too lazy to search for an old topic. I'm still dipping into it from time to time at the moment. There is inside certainly quite a lot of interest, which I had either forgotten I'd read, or didn't get around to reading before. I will try to give a fuller review later. One key point is that MT thought that his philosophy of teaching could be applied to more than just language-learning. From going through the Michel Thomas Spanish course some years back, it seems his philosophy boils down to:

And it can be seen that that philosophy could indeed be applied to a range of subjects, not just languages. 1 person has voted this message useful |
