Are there any other courses on the market that use a similar method to Assimil?

If you mean the one lesson a day approach, I think that Méthode 90 fits the bill (=90 lessons), but I don't know if it's also a passive wave->active wave. On the other hand, people seem to use Assimil in every way possible.

The Living Language Ultimate courses are a lot like Assimil, but they have more grammar notes, longer dialogues and more exercises. The LL Beyond the Basics series are also similar to Assimil.

Linguaphone is the closest to Assimil that I've come across.
