Hey guys!

Well, I've been wanderlust-ing for the past few days and I started thinking about buying the newest Assimil Arabic course, "L'Arabe", the French version.
I've heard Assimil's Arabic course is not as good as the others, so I wanted to know if I should really buy it or buy another course instead. What do you think?

Thanks a lot!

Take a listen to the track from Lesson 40:
Assimil l'arabe

Now imagine listening to that voice for the next six months.

I think Arabic is a beautiful language, but the Assimil version makes my ears bleed. I
don't know why they speak like this, because their Tunisian pocket guide and Advanced
Arabic course have very pleasant speakers.

Oh wow, that is painfully slow. On the other hand, it might be helpful if you plan to speak along with the tapes or repeat after each sentence. The older Assimil Arabic course is very good though. I especially like the fact that it has a connected storyline going through all the lessons. The main thing I don't like about the new course are the lessons at the back of the book, which are merely a collection of phrases organised around a topic.

Indeed, it is slow =/

Well, then I must ask, is Assimil the best course for Arabic, or would you guys recommend another one?
