Hey guys,

Does anyone know any resources for studying Swiss-German? Any websites containing grammar stuff? Vocabulary?

Thank you.

Go to www.books.ch and search for "Schweizerdeutsch"; there are 180 hits, some of which will be useful. I personally found Züritüütsch an excellent introduction to the Swiss German of Zurich (see also this flyer).

See also here for excellent books with more a more systematic focus. I can recommend in particular Viktor Schobinger's "Säit me so oder andersch".

Apart from the podcasts mentioned by prz_, there are many podcasts in Swiss German available from SRF. Just check out their homepage. I sometimes shadow A point and Espresso to practice pronunciation and prosody.

I have bought the Kauderwelsch book about Swiss German. And well, it is entertaining and has funny drawings, but it is too anecdotical and loose in its structure to be used as a textbook or grammar. And this is also true of the other books about German dialects, whereas those about non-German languages are quite good if you want a quick summary of the main features of a certain language.

Pimsleur has a Swiss-German series, but it doesn't include all that much grammar.
