I'm sharing MOAR! Yes I use other ressources as well, but Teach Yourself is the best choice regarding price and value ( in my opinion). Assimil is wayyyyy to expensive... Also, I really like the structure of Teach Yourself. TEACH YOURSELF: (34 * Complete Courses) 
HUEBER & Colloquial: Hueber is good as a starter, and a very cheap course. Colloquial is great, but I would say Teach Yourself is better (better price). TY and Colloquial have nearly the same audio.  (<- one small Assimil course bought for 4 Euro)
KAUDERWELSCH: I started with this phrasebooks and then moved on. Would totally recommend, because there is an audio CD available for (nearly) every phrasebook. You could learn very rare languages... 
LANGENSCHEIDT: became to expensive for me. Quality is not always the same. Would not recommend. 
Lonely Planet & MISC.: Just for fun. Phrasebooks from lonely planet are better/more expanded than the Kauderwelsch. However, there is nearly no audio for these phrasebooks available.

Ok, here's the bulk of my collection. Only about half is visible because the shelves are two rows deep. I often take photos of my shelves before trips to bookstores and library sales to remember what I already have.
Shelf 1 (old photo as a single row). Mainly Teach Yourself. 
Shelf 1 (new). TY are double-stacked to make room for my little Celtic section on the left. 
Shelf 2: Classics. Mostly Latin with some Greek. 
Shelf 3: Esperanto. Sorry it's so blurry. Also double-stacked. I have another shelf of Esperanto in my room. 
Shelf 4: Modern Romance. Italian half. Double-stacked. Bought most of these in Italy a few summers ago. 
Shelf 4: Modern Romance: Spanish half. 
Shelf 5: Miscellaneous. Stuff I have no immediate plans for.
