I would love to participate in the Japanese team :)
I am currently around N4-N3 so lower intermediate and I'd like to reach (upper) intermediate level by the end of next year :)

I'd like to participate with Turkish and French.
With Turkish, I'd like to improve my vocabulary. I'm currently at about C1, but I still
can't read any books fluently due to vocabulary problems. I've already joined the team
Yurukler.

For the French, I'd like to finish level B1 and start level B2. While my reading is OK, I
really need to improve listening, speaking and writing. What team should I join for
French?

One more question: I plan to improve my writing skills in English and want to get at
least 8 on IELTS academic writing. Is there a team for the learners of English?

solka,
Quote:

There's talk about an advanced ELS team (above C1, but nothing too strict about the actual level) and here's a list the people who have expressed their interest in the group so far either here or on other threads:

Emme
mrwarper
suzukaze
Via Diva
yuhakko
Zireael

I may have missed someone and obviously we're still waiting for others to sign up in the hope that this team will start.

Challenges have been mentioned more than once, so time to decide how centralized it's going to be?

I really think we need at least a "get back on track in summer" challenge, open to everyone who signed up (and to new members?). There's also the small challenges thread and Sprachprofi's list of topics to write about in your L2, the question is what we need beyond this.

I started a poll, please note that it's just some ideas to begin the discussion. It's in no way a final poll - this can be done after some discussion if needed. It's also perfectly fine to have a poll within the team.

Some notes:

-Challenges will never be a requirement for counting as an "active" TAC'er.

-If you're a leader, it won't be required of you to organize team challenges. Also, you don't have to be the leader to organize one. The team/organizer can also choose to open the challenge to non-members (any objections?)

-Meta challenges are things like "try a new technique", "try a new genre of TL media" (and it's your choice whether it's a genre of books, music, movies or whatever), "sum up your year" (in December) - flexible ideas that anyone can adjust to their needs/languages. They are meant to give you something interesting to write about in your log.

-Cavesa suggested teams like "Assimil users, those trying to escape the intermediate plateau, native input hoarders, immersionists, those who prepare for an exam..." - as you can see, if you add specific languages this would've made the teams too small. However it can apply to challenges.

-Obviously, choosing one of the last two options (or both of them) excludes the rest of them.

-Do we need a central thread for the challenges? Obviously, team challenges are for team threads, but otherwise? For now the small challenges thread is at your service.

Will the first post, like, ever be updated again? Cavesa, where are you?
