If I may...

- une fois qu'on est ...
- c'est vrai (c'est + adjectif masculin singulier)
- identiques à (et non de)

That said, congratulations on you both! Your French is really good, given that you've not been studying for
that long!

Russian

From русский язык для всех, I am in the middle of the preliminary courses, about phonetics and some grammar. Words as well. I pay extra attention to writing, spelling and pronunciation. A bit more effort at the start makes the rest easier.

I have many books from this course. I am not sure how to use them, but as they all have the same amount of chapters (except one that has 32 instead of 40), I suppose I should study all the unit 1s, 2s etc, as they complement each other.

There is the textbook in russian/english, the russian only textbook which makes me go for the dictionary all the time, the excercise book and the talk/read book. It will take some time to find a rythm, but my method so far is to make sure I leave no gaps in my knowledge, before I move on to the next thing. That goes for Turkish as well. This may seem slow at first, but the pace will pick up later, having established a solid base. That's the best way for me to learn. I didn't do that for French in the past, which is the reason why I have problems with it now.

Чай, anyone?

French

With french, I start with this book

Rapid method for French verbs

which is intensive, it covers verb grammar very well and it has tons of words. It goes on for 100 pages, which is not much in terms of a good verb revision. So, I will finish with this and then go for readers and native only material.

The reason I start with verbs is because that's my weakness. That's where I keep stumbling when I use the language. I figure, if I do this carefully from the start, then practice will make perfect (just saying...).

French verbs. Such fun...
