It's a great feeling when you can use sentences acquired during
immersion and watching tv. As a fan of Aifric myself, I'm quite curious which ones
you've started using. ;)

I signed up for the original Super Challenge a while back, but it could be a LONG time
before I can read 10,000 pages in Irish. This is now especially the case, given that
all my lovely language resources are packed up tight in an attic back in England and
would sadly cost a prince's fortune to send on to Hawai'i.

I did however sneak a copy of "Úlla" by MacMathúna and an audiobook by Seán Mac Mathúna
into my luggage when I moved to the US, so I'm looking forward to using that later.

And speaking of princes, I'd be very interested to hear if there is any audio recording
of "An Prionsa Beag" out there in the Internet universe? That would be an amazing
resource to find.

"An bhfuil tú ok?" lol. But really, sentences with a second verb in the verbal noun
form, "Bhi sé ____ a _____"

A book for the SC is only 50 pages now. And you can officially do half-challenges and
you get a star for every quarter completed. So it's much easier to accomplish
something.

I haven't seen any audiobooks, unfortunately :(

Demat ! I live in BZH/Breizh (Brittany in English). In my department (Côtes d'Armor), few people speak Breton, even if there are "Diwan" schools (where children learn this language). So, I don't speak Breton, I speak gallo, an other regional "language" (or dialect) of Brittany, who is a romance language.

If you learn Breton, I think these sites may be of interest to you :
- Kervarker.org (lessons)
- Radiobreizh.net/en
- www.fr.opab-oplb.org/ (Office public de la langue bretonne, in French)

Kenavo !

I don't know if anyone would find this useful or of interest:

Lexicelt

Welsh-Irish dictionary (and possibly more).

As I don't know any Irish, I didn't get very far with it, but others might.

Here is a description from the University of Bangor, where I found the link:

Quote:

Lexicelt website with Welsh and Irish phrases and dictionary
Lexicelt is an excellent resource for those wishing to start to learn a little Irish
through the medium of Welsh or Welsh through the medium of Irish. Containing useful
phrases on a variety of themes, Lexicelt also features an online searchable
Welsh<>Irish dictionary complete with part of speech information.

In France, we have artists who sing in celtics languages (Breton, Irish...).

I love Gortoz a Ran (I'm waiting) by Denez Prigent - a folk singer - and Lisa Gerrard. It's beautiful ! If you know the film Black Hawk Down, you know this song !
Nolwenn Leroy, a french singer, made in 2010 an album intitled Bretonne, with songs like Mna Na H-Eireann(Women Of Ireland) or Bro gozh ma zadoù.
I like also the band Tri Yann, and Alan Stivell.

Adding a couple of more sites to the Breton list, my blog has an extensive list of Breton learning resources, and a poorly updated learning category (I have mostly moved away from writing about learning).

There are also "sound banks" (usually elders that are interviewed to preserve the memory of accents and local variations of the language)
