"ár" is Old Norse, "gear" seems to be Old English ;)

I confirm my observer's interest. Not sure if I'll be writing much in my log about it though, but we'll see :)

I'd like to be an observer here. :)

I am not studying any Scandinavian languages now, but I will likely pick up the Assimil course for Norwegian later in 2014 for a planned trip in early 2015. :D

My fault for not double checking my sources!

I'll post an introduction, in Norwegian, in a few days and a link to my log once I start it sometime during the holidays. In the meantime, here's some of my favorite resources for Norwegian:

-The Klar Tale easy news site and their weekly podcast is great for beginners. The podcast is a reading of their weekly paper, which can sometimes be found in pdf form here.
-This site is useful for basic grammar
-You have to create a free account on memrise.com before you can use these links, but it doesn't take very long. This course is great for beginners as it reinforces vocabulary right away by using it in sentences. This course is useful for learning and reinforcing grammar and this course contains a lot of sentences with audio, so is good for pronunciation.
-The Ylvis' Facebookies channel on Youtube, which posts a ton of videos from the comedians Ylvis subtitled in English, is great for listening comprehension. It should be noted however that they are from Bergen, so do not speak in the Oslo dialect, or in anything close to Bokmål. But's it's always good to get used to dialects.

And for everyone, not just Norwegian learners, Forvo is great for checking the pronunciation of words.

Hope I helped!

Just coming by at this stage to say hello. As your Godfather (which is "gudfar" or "fadder" in Norwegian by the way) I'll try to be around as much as I can to offer advice and reply to questions about Norwegian. And I hope you will find someone to take on the role for Danish and Swedish as well.

Please confirm me, also. I'd like to use my old log, but I don't know how to change the heading.

If you edit the very first post in your log you should see an editable field for the title. I say “should” because I’ve just read in the Russian team log that Josquin is having problems editing his previous posts. Maybe it’s a new bug, but hopefully you won’t have any such problem.

@Via_Diva and @Kerrie and all the other observers/Wanderlusters.

It would be nice to have the link to your logs too, so we can follow your language journey even if you’re not concentrating on Swedish / Norwegian / Danish.

So please let me know where we can find your logs: you’re part of the team even if the Nordic languages are low priorities for you in 2014.
