Thanks for reminding us to do a wrap-up! That's something I always forgot :P

No problem. Reviewing what we set up to do can be a learning experience.

Luso, will you be doing Arabic next year?

I still have a few things to wrap up, but I think so.

EDIT (less than one hour later): I just joined TAC with Arabic and Sanskrit.

Way to go, Expug! :D You don't happen to have a European passport or a European
university inscription lying around somewhere, do you? Because the online Chinese courses
at Dalarna University (Swedish university, but courses taught in English completely via
the internet) take only four semesters to lead to C1 Mandarin - I just completed Mandarin
IV and as last assignment we did a mock HSK 5 test and it seems that everyone passed. The
pace was intense, though only meeting one time two hours per week. I was lucky that a lot
was review for me. But if you sign up for one of the courses, I'm sure you could improve
your Chinese beyond your wildest dreams in 2015. Unfortunately they are quite expensive
normally; only Europeans get in for free.

My next language shall be Hebrew. I'm not sure I'll join a TAC Team again, probably not.
Maybe a tandem. We'll see.

No, not really =D Are these courses entirely online? Now that you mention it, I have access to a good native teacher who owns a school, and I considered taking some classes. Maybe I should really give it a try.

Yes, completely online. 2 hours a week per course, but plenty plenty of homework.

Quality of teachers and intensity varies widely, generally you can take 10 years of
classes at a language school and not reach C1.

Thank you Serpent, but they mean EU or EEA (Norway, Lichtenstein...) So, we're on the same boat (or out of it, actually :D)

As I had suggested for the end-of-year challenge, I just recorded a presentation in
Chinese as a lasting record of my current level. The topic is "Distinguishing languages
and dialects" - I originally prepared this presentation for my beginning Chinese
linguistics class at Dalarna University. Every student had to do some presentations and I
found that an excellent tool for practicing active language skills.
