Hi, I would like to join with Georgian.
Here is my log. Regarding my level, technically I am not a beginner because I started a couple years ago, but I still wouldn't say I'm at a very high level. So maybe you could call it low intermediate. Although, I'm not sure if I'm quite B1 yet, so I would estimate I'm more of an A2. And my goal is to be able to converse enough to get around in Georgia, since I am planning to go there soon. So I guess that would be B1 or B2? Okay, here's an idea for the January challenge: introduce yourself in your target
language. And say more than just "I am __ . I come from __ " - in fact, try to make it a really long text. This is something I learned from the book "How to improve your foreign language IMMEDIATELY" (which I recommend to anyone): it really helps to be able to talk forever about a topic that commonly comes up, so that you can bridge awkward silences. 4 persons have voted this message useful | |||

How do I use BliuBliu with Arabic?
It keeps giving me texts streaked through with proper names in Roman alphabet, therefore invalidating the whole point (of course I know S/S or Prada) It says I know 113 words, while maybe 13 of them were real Arabic. To be honest, if the info from my Georgian friend is true: except the TV or radio programmes, Georgians use only გაუმარჯოს (informal) and გამარჯობა (formal).

Bliubliu tries to find texts that contain only a few new words, because reading a text that is full of new words is frustrating. So one strategy for such texts is if they contain a lot of names or other words in Roman alphabet - these are automatically considered as known, so you can focus on learning the Arabic words around them. Once you know a decent amount of Arabic words, Bliubliu will give you all-Arabic texts. Alternatively you can set your initial level higher, then Bliubliu will assume you know a certain number of basic Arabic words already. Since texts are added automatically from various blogs and news sites (as well as some manually-added texts, you can contribute texts too!), there are occasionally texts that are English when they should be a foreign language, or texts that are uninteresting.
