The Reading Real Russian book you mentioned is available on amazon, and the used books have very reasonable prices compared to some of the other language books of this method. I've already ordered a copy for myself.

Sadly Amazon charges some $20 for getting any book into The Old World, so I'd rather find a European store that would sell something. Alas, it's not easy.

Any of the old (60's and before) TY edition books would be good for learning to read,
because they go into 1 grammar topic at a time, have translation/version exercises then
start adding small texts.

I found a bunch of books today, picked them up at the library. They are called "Better Reading" and they have books for French, Italian and Spanish from what I gather. I'll be posting thoughts on them.

Those are the books I told you about. I haven't tried any of them, so I'm looking
forward to seeing your reviews.

Both amazon.fr and amazon.co.uk deliver elsewhere in Europe. At amazon.co.uk you would pay 5.98GBP ( see here) and at amazon.fr you pay 10 euros for delivery of one book (see here). With today's currency rates both options seem cheaper than amazon.com.

It doesn't matter what it says in the domain if the book is in the United States :D I'll find something though.
